People often forget that Hawaii is home to Parker Ranch, the largest Cattle Ranch in the United States.

Up in the mountains, the barren lava gives way to rustic Mesquite trees and rolling sagebrush. This is Parker Ranch, a place where Hawaiian cowboys, called Paniolos, still tend over 40,000 head of cattle in the hills. Ian grew up working with the Paniolos.

Today, several ranches are offering horseback tours of the pastoral highlands of Hawaii.
