Measured from seafloor to peak, the top of Mauna Kea, the tallest mountain in the world. The top is so high that people go skiing on Mauna Kea during the winter. High above the clouds, Mauna Kea is home to the Keck Observatory, one of the most powerful telescopes in the world.
